Chirag S. Rathod, PharmD (he/him)
TRAINING FACILITATOR
Chirag graduated with a PharmD degree in 2012 and has spent his career in pursuit of experiences that extend beyond the world of pharmacy. In May of 2014, he took his first improv class which completely changed the trajectory of his life.
Currently, Chirag is a clinical pharmacist and academic detailer at the University of Illinois-Chicago (UIC) in his more traditional pharmacy role; an adjunct lecturer with UIC’s College of Business teaching a course centered on professional development utilizing improvisational and theater-training techniques designed to enhance the communication skills of future business leaders; a lecturer with UIC’s Honor College teaching an elective every Fall utilizing improvisational and theater-training techniques focused on enhancing communication, creativity and confidence of undergraduates from a wide variety of educational backgrounds; a training facilitator with the National Resource Center for Academic Detailing (NaRCAD) teaching the techniques of academic detailing; he has also facilitated improv workshops focused on enhancing communication with pharmacy and medical schools around the state of Illinois.
He is currently in pursuit of his MBA and is in the process of publishing papers on the role of improv in improving health equity and communication skills of health care practitioners. Chirag has been a training facilitator with NaRCAD since 2021.
