- Answer Detroit: Network of Sex Workers: An online collective in support of sex workers and their health, rights, and needs.
- Harm Reduction Michigan: Health equity and recovery community organization that houses a statewide naloxone access directory.
- Michigan Drug Users Health Alliance: Community-led advocacy organization focused on harm reduction, health equity, racial justice, and human rights for people who use drugs and individuals involved in sex work through education, policy reform, and community empowerment initiatives.
- Michigan Opioid Collaborative (MOC): Via MOC’s Overdose Prevention Engagement Network (OPEN), a diverse team of trained specialists engage with individuals, communities, and organizations to support recovery & prevention.
- Michigan Opioids Task Force: The Michigan Opioids Task Force was created as an advisory body within the Department of Health and Human Services and consists of 12 members of the executive branch of state government. Contacts may be useful for policy-related and systemic issues.
- MI Recovery: Support organization with a comprehensive set of options for recovery from substance use disorder and addiction.
- MSU Extension Michigan Substance Use, Prevention, Education and Recovery (MiSUPER): Collaborative project that combines education with training events to increase awareness of opioid use disorder issues in communities, treatment options, and support for those in recovery.
MICHIGAN PEER RECOVERY ORGANIZATIONS
- CARE Southeastern Michigan via Recovery United Community Center: A program that connects persons with SUD to resources, including: group or family therapy, residential treatment, 12-step programs, medications for opioid use disorder, faith-based support groups, mental health services, and more.
- Michigan Narcotics Anonymous: Regular check-in meetings following the 12-step model, with locations across the Detroit Metro region. Includes interactive area map to find meetings. (For meetings across the state and beyond, explore the global In the Rooms Resource.)
- Support - Face Addiction Now: A community-based organization for people seeking or currently in recovery, family members affected by substance use, and supporters from the community.
