Are you passionate about improving healthcare and reducing health disparities? NaRCAD provides a short-term, unpaid internship program for students and recent graduates, offering hands-on experience and practical skills to launch a successful career in public health, social sciences, clinical care, health communications, and beyond.
Schedule: Average of 5-10 hours/week for approximately12 weeks; hours and weeks are flexible for the right candidate.
Location: Remote; if intern is Boston-based, there will be opportunities for in-person meetings at Boston Medical Center.
Responsibilities: As an intern at NaRCAD, your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Communications Support: Contribute to our blog by writing a thought piece that reflects our work and impact in the public health field; develop engaging questions for our podcasts and blogs; support our staff with social media posting and graphic design.
Community Outreach: Participate in conference calls and meetings with academic detailing partners and public health professionals to foster collaborative relationships and gain insights into the field.
Data and Resource Gathering: Collect and organize data and resources for online toolkits covering critical topics such as opioid safety, HIV prevention, harm reduction, mental health, and substance use.
Website Content Updates & Usability Testing: Regularly update the NaRCAD website; evaluate the website to identify areas for improvement in usability and accessibility, contributing to a better user experience for our audience.
Program & Event Support: Assist in organizing and attending training and/or conference sessions, providing support to NaRCAD staff during these events.
Research: Conduct comprehensive literature reviews to support manuscripts and various projects, contributing to the foundation of evidence-based practices.
Who should apply? Students or recent graduates who are passionate about public health. Strong communication and teamwork skills are critical. This is an unpaid internship designed to provide hands-on experience, professional development, and mentorship.
