Our Experience
Our team is the most experienced in the United States at designing and implementing all aspects of an academic detailing program. Academic detailing was pioneered by Dr. Avorn in the 1980s. Since then, our team has conducted multiple controlled trials demonstrating the positive effects of academic detailing on clinical practice and prescribing. In addition, we have worked to implement numerous academic detailing programs and provide assistance to others.
Dr. Fischer, Dr. Avorn, and all of the NaRCAD core faculty are closely involved with the Independent Drug Information System (iDiS), which currently administers academic detailing programs in several states. They have authored, co-authored, or edited the academic detailing materials that can be found on its website, www.RxFacts.org. Their experience will be leveraged to help partners wishing to work with NaRCAD to establish or improve an academic detailing program.
